Council endorsed its preferred option of a two-hectare portion of State Government owned land off Pony Place, Oakford, as the preferred location for the new Oakford Station.
August 2021
Department of Fire and Emergency Services advised the Shire of the 2021/22 Local Government Grants Scheme, offering a Capital Grants Self Supporting Loan option for the Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station.

A report was presented to update Council on the progress of the project.
March 2022
As part of reviewing the escalation in construction material and labour costs, the Shire undertook an updated quantity survey of the order of probable costs for the project. This has revealed as significant escalation in cost, which has required engagement back with DFES on options to fully capitalise the project.
January 2023
The Shire received a development application for the Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station to be located at Lot 800 Pony Place, Oakford. The application was released to the public for community consultation.
February 2023
The public comment period for the development application was closed and feedback received reviewed by Shire Officers.
March 2023
Council approved the development application for the new Station to be based at Lot 800 Pony Place, Oakford.
April 2023
Planning and design works for the new Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station have commenced.
August 2024
Concept Plans for the internal layout and site layout of the Oakford Station have been finalised.
