If you’re new to the Shire, you may have brought your furry friend with you. The most important thing is that the Shire is no different to any other local government when it comes to responsible pet ownership.

Here are a few things to remember now you’ve made the move to SJ.

You’ll need to transfer your pet’s registration from your old local government.
Ensure your pet is microchipped. Without a microchip your dog is at risk if it strays and is hurt or sick.
You can only keep two dogs and/or two cats on your residence. You will need to make a written application to Council with a non-refundable fee of $90 to keep more dogs or cats.
