Food at events and markets
If you want to sell food at an event or market located in the Shire, you need to be a registered food business with your local council. To apply for a stall you will need to contact the organiser of the event you wish to trade at. The event organiser will lodge an Application for a collective food vendors approval – Events to the Shire, with the list of food vendors.
The applicant will need to attach the certificate of registration and public liability insurance for all listed traders that they wish to attend the event.
All applications should be lodged at least two weeks prior to the event to allow sufficient time for processing.
For events on Shire land or within Shire facilities, please contact the Bookings and Facilities Team for further information by visiting their page here.
If you are interested in setting up a temporary food stall, please refer to our temporary food stall guidelines as well as our food labelling requirements guide, for some helpful tips.
Sausage Sizzles or single fund raising events
If you wish to hold a sausage sizzle for a single fund raising event, you do not need to apply for an approval. Please refer to our guidelines for sausage sizzle for information on ensuring your food is safe.
