Dog Exercise Areas
The Shire recognises the need to have public places where dogs can be walked and head into streets, parks and reserves for exercise.
For the comfort and safety of all residents, it is important to remember that dogs must be held on a leash by a person capable of controlling the dog in any public place within the boundaries of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, except in approved dog exercise areas.
Please note that dogs are not permitted off-lead in any street (this includes a verge area), and in any place without the property owner's permission.
Byford Bark Park
Byford Bark Park is an off-lead dedicated dog park located on Larsen Road, Byford, with agility equipment and obstacles. The area includes two dedicated dog parks, one for small dogs and one for big dogs.
Park Rules
- Dogs must always be under effective control
- If any dog/s shows signs of aggression or anti-social behaviour the dog handler must remove the their dog immediately from the area
- Please be considerate of all park users, as well as neighbouring properties and their pets
- Scoop the poop – please use the bins provided
- Dogs must be placed on a leash on leaving the off leash exercise area
Tourmaline Boulevard Dog Park
Tourmaline Boulevard Dog Park is an off-lead dedicated dog park located at Lot 8053 Tourmaline Boulevard, Byford, intersecting Blancoa Approach. The park provides agility equipment and obstacles. The area includes two dedicated dog parks, one for small dogs and one for big dogs.

- If any dog/s shows signs of aggression or anti-social behaviour the dog handler must remove the their dog immediately from the area
- Please be considerate of all park users, as well as neighbouring properties and their pets
- Scoop the poop – please use the bins provided
- Dogs must be placed on a leash on leaving the off leash exercise area
Bill Hicks Reserve
Dogs may be “off lead” at Bill Hicks Reserve, Plaistowe Boulevard, Byford between the hours of 5am–9am, but dogs must remain under control at all time. Following this time dogs must be on-lead.

Jarrahdale Oval
Jarrahdale Oval is a designated off-lead dog exercise area located on Millars Road, Jarrahdale.

- If any dog/s shows signs of aggression or anti-social behaviour the dog handler must remove the their dog immediately from the area
- Please be considerate of all park users, as well as neighbouring properties and their pets
- Scoop the poop – please use the bins provided
- Dogs must be placed on a leash on leaving the off leash exercise area
Dogs are NOT permitted
- To be off-lead during sanctioned events. Dogs may be allowed to access the oval during this time, but must be on a lead.
*Please note: Some events at Jarrahdale Oval may specify that dogs are not permitted on the oval during the time of the event.
