General Waste Bin (red or green lid)
The general waste bin is collected weekly. It’s for waste that can’t be recycled or reused.
What can go in my general waste bin?

✔ Green waste / Garden organics
✔ Nappies and hygiene products
✔ Polystyrene and long-life cartons
✔ Soft plastic and packaging (e.g. lolly wrappers, bread bags, bubble wrap)
✔ Milk carton lids
✔ Damaged clothing, shoes, crockery and toys
✔ Takeaway coffee cups

✘ Batteries
✘ Chemicals & Cleaners
✘ Construction or building materials
✘ E-Waste
✘ Fire Extinguishers

Recycling Bin (yellow lid)
The yellow lid is collected fortnightly. The bin is for all your recyclable items, which are reprocessed into new products.
What can go in my recycling bin?
✔ Aluminum and steel cans*
✔ Glass bottles and jars (rinsed and lids removed)*
✔ Plastic bottles and containers (rinsed and lids removed)*
✔ Newspapers, office paper (clean and not shredded)
✔ Cardboard (flattened and clean)
✔ Other drink cartons*
All recycling must be loose (not bagged), clean and empty.
