Expected outcomes
- Improved safety and hygiene for bush fire volunteers
- Enhanced volunteer morale and retention
- Fire stations that are fit for purpose, for an area of hypergrowth
Project Overview
The Shire’s fire stations are in need of essential upgrades to change room, toilet, and storage facilities.
The upgrades will enhance the safety and well-being of the Shire’s dedicated volunteer firefighters.
Key Components
- Upgraded change rooms
- Modernised toilet and shower facilities to accommodate male and female firefighters
- Expanded and organised storage areas for equipment and supplies
Community Need
The facility upgrades have been identified through an audit of the Shire’s brigade facilities.
They will modernise fire station facilities to provide a safe and functional environment for our busy fire brigades, promoting volunteer retention and recruitment.
This will have the follow-on effect of creating a safer environment in one of the Shire’s key growth areas.
