Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Councillor Morgan Byas has announced his resignation from the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Council, effective 31 March 2025.

Elected in October 2017 to the North West Ward, and re-elected in 2021, Cr Byas has been a dedicated voice for the local community, serving with passion as a lifelong resident of Oakford.

Shire President Rob Coales said that throughout his time on Council, Cr Byas has worked hard to support and advocate for the residents of Serpentine Jarrahdale.

“We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Morgan for his hard work and dedication during his tenure,” President Coales said.

“On behalf of the Shire and our community, we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

A report will be presented to the April meeting for Council to consider options regarding the North West Ward vacancy.
