WOW Homes has received the Shire’s inaugural Clean Builder of the Year award for keeping its construction sites spotless and debris-free.
Shire President Rob Coales and Director Development Services, Andrew Trosic, presented the award, highlighting WOW Homes’ commitment to maintaining spotless construction sites.
WOW Homes has gone above and beyond to keep its building sites in SJ tidy.
This includes using bins with secure lids to prevent windblown debris, ensuring all waste stays contained, and effectively managing sand drift.
These practices are important to prevent litter from ending up in our parks, waterways, and neighbourhoods.
With a booming construction industry (1141 building approvals and 478 new homes built so far in 2024), the Shire emphasises the importance of builders adhering to waste management standards.
Shire rangers actively partner with builders to educate them on their responsibilities and ensure our environment remains nicely maintained, even during the building process.
"Our 'Clean Builder of the Year' initiative recognises companies like WOW Homes who demonstrate exceptional waste management practices," said President Rob Coales.
"As our Shire experiences significant growth, ensuring builders comply with these standards is essential.
Our local builders are a big part of SJ’s growth journey, and we recognise the important role they play in delivering new homes. It is a pleasure to acknowledge WOW Homes in this regard. We also recognise our Shire rangers for their continuous efforts to keep our streets and environment free of unwanted debris."
