Watkins Road Waste Transfer Station: Photo ID requirements

Published on Monday, 10 July 2023 at 9:03:36 AM

Planning a visit to the Watkins Road Waste Transfer Station and Recycling Centre anytime soon? Don’t forget to bring your photo ID!

In response to a significant increase in the volume of waste being presented to the Station, the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has implemented important measures to ensure the facility is used exclusively by SJ residents.

All residents visiting the Waste Transfer Station are now kindly being asked to present valid photo identification, such as a driver’s licence, to prove their residency within the Shire.

If the address listed on the photo ID is not current, a recent household bill will also be required.

The Waste Transfer Station is clearly a popular asset in our community, however it is important access is limited to SJ residents only. This helps to keep the costs of processing waste at the Station viable, for both the Shire and the SJ ratepayer.

Residents who visit the Waste Transfer Station without photo ID will not be allowed entry.

If you are a Shire resident who cannot access the Waste Transfer Station, the Shire’s On-Demand Waste Collection Service may be able to assist you.

The service ensures accepted waste materials will be picked up from your property and taken to the station by friendly Shire staff.
