The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has welcomed the WA Government’s commitment of $36.3 million in the 2023/24 State Budget to deliver the Byford Health Hub.
The East Metropolitan Health Service is coordinating planning, design, development, and delivery of the Byford Health Hub in partnership with the Shire.
“This funding is a major milestone and ensures the future delivery of the Byford Health Hub,” Shire President Cr Michelle Rich said.
“The Byford Health Hub will provide an accessible and contemporary health service for the Shire’s most populated suburb, meaning locals will no longer have to travel outside of the Shire to receive specialist care.
“This is a fantastic announcement for our community and we are excited to see the next steps in the Byford Health Hub’s development.
“The Shire thanks the WA Government, in particular Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and Member for Darling Range Hugh Jones MLA, for their commitment to delivering health care in Serpentine Jarrahdale.
“The Shire looks forward to continuing our working relationship with the State Government to deliver this important facility for our growing community.”
Once complete, the Byford Health Hub will deliver a comprehensive service including medical clinics, allied health and GPs, mental health services, nurse practitioners, community midwives and treatment rooms.
