Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale residents can now plan their pruning, trimming and mowing in advance, with the release of Shire green waste collection dates into April 2025.

The green waste collection initiative was introduced as a temporary measure by the Shire following the closure of the Watkins Road Waste Transfer Station in October 2023.

The first collection took place in April this year, with additional collections scheduled for July and October continuing into April 2025.

Collections will hit all Shire suburbs so that all residents can conveniently dispose or their green waste conveniently and safely.

In more good news for people on larger properties, there are no volume limits for the collections, the only restriction being the length of items, which is restricted to 1.5 metres.

Green waste should always be placed neatly on the verge to make sure collections are as easy and quick as possible.

Green waste place out dates for residents are as follows, with collections in the following week:

  • Area 1 (Mardella, Serpentine, Hopeland, and Keysbrook):
    • 29 & 30 June (Extended to 7 July)
    • 28 & 29 September
    • 5 & 6 April 2025
  • Area 2 (Mundijong, Whitby, Karrakup, and Jarrahdale):
    • 6 & 7 July
    • 5 & 6 October
    • 12 & 13 April 2025
  • Area 3 (Darling Downs, Oakford, and Oldbury):
    • 13 & 14 July
    • 12 & 13 October
    • 19 & 20 April 2025
  • Area 4 (Byford and Cardup):
    • 20 & 21 July
    • 19 & 20 October
    • 26 & 27 April 2025

Green waste collections not only help residents to keep the outside of their property neat, but also makes it easier to keep the Shire tidy.

In addition to regular updates on social media, the Shire’s weekly newsletter, and the website, the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is pleased to announce that a comprehensive waste guide will be distributed to all households in the coming weeks.
