The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, in partnership with the City of Armadale and the City of Gosnells, is excited to announce a significant funding boost for the 'Switch Your Thinking' program, thanks to a $500,000 investment from the Cook Labor Government.

This initiative, which promotes sustainability and energy efficiency, will now expand its reach to support more households and small businesses across Western Australia. With energy costs on the rise, the program aims to help residents reduce their energy use and save on their bills.

The expanded program will be rolled out to at least 41 local government areas throughout the State. As part of this investment, residents will have access to:

  • DIY Energy Audit Toolkits: 200 toolkits will be made available for loan at local libraries, enabling residents to assess their own energy consumption and create a personalized energy action plan.
  • Energy Efficiency Workshops: A series of workshops will be held in 2025, covering topics such as reducing energy use and planning for electrification.

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is proud to continue its commitment to sustainability through the 'Switch Your Thinking' program. This initiative empowers our community to take meaningful steps towards energy efficiency, benefiting both the environment and their wallets.

Comments attributed to Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale President Rob Coales:

"This initiative is a significant step forward in our journey towards a more sustainable, liveable future.

"By providing practical tools and resources, Switch Your Thinking enables our residents and businesses to actively participate in energy conservation.

"This aligns perfectly with our vision of a liveable, protected, and safe natural and built rural environment, with access to services and facilities.

"We are committed to fostering a culture of sustainability in our community, and this program is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference."
