Applications for the February round of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale's SJ Community Grants Program are now open.

The SJ Community Grants Program provides eligible local community groups, organisations and individuals with funding to deliver important projects, community initiatives, purchase equipment or host events.

We're currently taking applications for the following:

  • Major Event Grant
  • General Grant

Major Event Grant

The Major Event Grant is available to apply for twice a year in February and July.

This grant supports local community groups with delivering a community, sporting or cultural event that is significant to the Shire and attracts attendees from the Shire, the Peel region and surrounds.

Successful applicants may receive between $5,000 and $20,000 through this grant.

A recent example of the Major Event Grant at work is the Byford Carols event, which is a highly successful event that runs in the lead up to Christmas.

Please visit the Major Event Grant webpage for more information.

General Grant

The General Grant is offered three times each year with applications open in February, July and October.

It helps to provide financial assistance to registered not-for-profit organisations and incorporated community groups for community initiatives.

Some of last year's recipients include Homelessness We Care Serpentine Jarrahdale and Surrounds, Byford Community Kindergarten, and Serpentine Historical Society.

Please visit our General Grants webpage to find out more information.

Additionally, the Shire also offers the below grants which can be applied for all-year round:

  • Youth Leadership and Training Grant ($200)
  • Friendly Neighbourhoods Grant ($250)
