The Shire has hosted Shane Love MLA, Leader of the Nationals in WA, along with Morgan Byas, Nationals WA candidate for Darling Range.

The visit was part of the Shire's continued push to meet political leaders in the lead up to the State and Federal elections, and gain support for key community infrastructure projects.

A short tour of the Shire took in the Mundijong netball courts, the BMX track and SJ Community Recreation Centre, and the Keirnan Park and Jarrahdale Trails Centre sites. The route enabled participants to experience some of the Shire's most dilapidated roads. 

Shire President Rob Coales was joined by community members to talk about the Shire’s community infrastructure needs in the face of rapid growth, and about many Shire facilities which are in desperate need of repair.
