Advocacy in action: Shire hosts WA Liberal Party leader

This week the Shire was pleased to host Libby Mettam MLA, leader of the Liberal Party in WA, and candidate for Darling Range Paul Mansfield to highlight the Shire’s 2025 Election Advocacy Priorities.

The visit included a visit to the SJ Community Recreation Centre and BMX track, the netball courts and Jarrahdale, via some of the Shire’s busiest and most dilapidated roads.

Conversation highlighted the need for investment in community sporting infrastructure, funding to improve local roads and to deliver a Jarrahdale Trails Centre.

Meetings which advocate for funding to develop and improve SJ’s infrastructure will continue, as we seek to support the increasing numbers of families moving to the Shire, and maintain SJ's liveability.

Shire President Rob Coales, CEO Paul Martin will be meeting with other key political leaders in the lead up to the 2025 Federal and State Government elections to secure support and funding for these critical community priorities.
