Join us for the Australia Day 2025 - SJ Sounds of Summer event!

There'll be some awesome entertainment, music, and a range of food trucks on offer at this family friendly event.

So, bring a picnic rug and round up your loved ones for an evening of tunes.

Entry is free! Registration isn't required.

Please note this is a family-friendly event and smoking, vaping, alcohol, and the use of illicit substances are strictly prohibited. This is also a pet-free event so please leave your furry friends at home.

  • Where is the event being held?
    Briggs Park, 20 Mead St, Byford WA 6122

  • Do I need to register to attend the event?
    No, the event is free and un-ticketed.

  • Is there parking available?
    We encourage people to walk, ride or take public transport as there is limited free parking available around Briggs Park. 
    There is also limited parking available at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Recreation Centre and along the surrounding streets.

    Please be mindful of oncoming traffic, parking in front of houses or local businesses and follow signage at all times.

  • Will there be food at the event?
    Yes! We will have food trucks, ice-cream, mocktails and a coffee van where you can purchase refreshments. We encourage those with dietary requirements or food preferences to bring along their own food options to avoid disappointment.   • What do I need to bring?
    Items we suggest you bring along:
    A picnic blanket
    Camping chairs
    Insect repellent
    Money for the food trucks in case of EFTPOS issues
    Non-alcoholic drinks

  • What if it’s raining?
    If extreme weather (hot or cold) is forecast, the event may be cancelled for health & safety reasons.

  • Will there be drinking water at the event?
    A drinking fountain is located at the Byford Skate Park. Water will also be available for purchase from the food vendors.

  • Will there be toilets at the event?
    Toilets are located inside and around the Briggs Park Pavilion. 

  • Is this an accessible event?
    Yes, those with accessibility requirements are more than welcome to attend at their own capacity. We will have accessible parking options and toilets available and a dedicated Quiet Zone within the SJ Youth Centre directly behind the stage for those that may require it. Please note that the event is held on an oval with uneven grass & gravel surrounds.
  • What if I have questions on the day?
    If you require any assistance on the day, please look for Event Staff, identified in yellow hi-vis vests. You can also phone the SJ Shire afterhours phone on (08) 9526 1111.

  • Can I bring my dog to the event? 
    This event and Briggs Park are strictly pet-free. For the comfort and safety of all attendees, and to avoid embarrassment, please leave your pets at home with the exception of assistance dogs who are welcome on a leash at all times.

  • Can we bring alcohol to the event? 
    Smoking, vaping, alcohol, and the use of illicit substances are strictly prohibited at this event. Police & Security will remove anyone who is seen to be partaking during the course of the event.

  • Filming and Photography Consent
    Photos & videos may be taken by professional photographers and event staff during this event

    Images may be used by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and/or contracted event suppliers for marketing & promotional purposes. If you do not wish for your photo to be used in this way, please speak with the Event Staff or Photographer on the day. You will be issued with a coloured wrist band so we can identify and ensure that photos of you are not shared publicly.
