Metronet Planning Control Area 164 Declaration – Byford Rail Extension

Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has declared that land shown on plan numbers 1.8019 – 1.8021 fall under Planning Control Area (PCA) 164.

The purpose of the PCA is to facilitate development of the Byford Rail Extension (BRE) and to allow (if required) the future reservation of land in the Metropolitan Region Scheme.

The BRE project comprises an 8km rail line extension from the existing Armadale Station to a new station located in Byford. The WAPC considers that the PCA is required to ensure that no development occurs which might prejudice this outcome.

In compliance with section 115 of the Act, please ensure that any applications for development approval in this planning control area are forwarded to the WAPC for determination.
