Switch Your Thinking is the Shire’s award winning sustainability initiative that aims to reduce regional greenhouse emissions and inspire community action. To do this we collaborate with neighbouring Councils, local businesses, and community groups, to help residents to live and work in a way that meets their needs without jeopardising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Business
We have programs for local businesses to work with us, join our Rewards for Residents and Rewards for Business programs, receive award recognition and get discounts on sustainable products. Switch Your Thinking also offers local businesses the opportunity to nominate for a Switched on Business Award which is awarded two times per year.
Energy Efficiency Pilot Program
The Western Australian Government is providing $500,000 to Switch Your Thinking for the design and delivery of an 18-month pilot program (inclusive of the planning stage) to assist participating Western Australian Local Governments to support their residents and local small to medium businesses to build energy literacy and implement energy efficiency measures in their homes and businesses. The primary objective of the pilot is to provide participants with access to relevant, accessible energy efficiency education to influence behaviour change leading to improved energy literacy and corresponding reductions in energy use and bills.
