The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the State Government to deliver a youth fest event as part of Youth Week WA 2025. This free event, designed for young people aged 12-17, will celebrate their talents, creativity, and contributions to the community.
Building on the success of previous events, including the 2024 Youth Fest, which featured live performances, interactive exhibits, and activities to engage and empower young people, the 2025 event will provide opportunities for youth to connect with peers, showcase their talents, and celebrate their achievements. Local young people will take a leading role in planning the event through a Youth Advisory Group.
Shire President Rob Coales thanked the State Government for its support in making the event possible.
"This grant enables us to deliver an event that highlights the creativity and contributions of young people in Serpentine Jarrahdale," President Coales said. "Youth Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our young residents and foster a sense of community pride."
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale offers a range of programs and resources aimed at supporting young people and their development. For more information about youth services and to stay up to date with Youth Fest 2025, visit www.sjshire.wa.gov.au/youthofsj.
