The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and the Hopeland Community Association have signed an important user agreement that ensures the continued use of Hopeland Hall. A cherished local landmark, the building was constructed in 1933 and served as a School between 1933 – 1968.
Founded in 1981, the Hopeland Community Association has been dedicated to fostering a sense of community and celebrating local history. One of the association's beloved traditions is its annual gatherings, which provide a unique opportunity for former students and residents to come together and relive the fond memories of their school days. During these events, the association also showcases memorabilia, preserving the history of the area for future generations.
This formal arrangement provides the association with greater stability and security in its efforts to continue the hall’s legacy of serving the community.
This partnership between the Shire and the Hopeland Community Association reflects a broader commitment to protecting and honouring heritage sites across the region. The preservation of Hopeland Hall is not just about maintaining a physical building; it is about ensuring that the stories, memories, and traditions tied to it continue to thrive in the hearts and minds of future generations.
Through collaboration and a shared commitment to preserving the past, Hopeland Hall will continue to be a place where memories are made, and the spirit of the community lives on.
The Shire is dedicated to building strong connections with our community and honouring our shared history.
