SJ Christmas Lights Competition 2024
The Christmas Lights Competition is done and dusted for another year! We received more than 2500 votes for the Public Choice categories, while Shire President Rob Coales and Deputy President Cr Tricia Duggin awarded the Judges Choice categories.

The Shire President will head out to view the shining displays and choose the winners.

- Best Decorated Street: The community of Blackberry Ramble in Byford have rallied together to put on an amazing display. Check out the photos below and make sure to visit in person.

What prizes are up for grabs?
Best Christmas Lights Display – Public Choice
This category has three prizes available and is open to all residential and commercial properties.
- 1st - $1,000
- 2nd - $500
- 3rd - $250
Best Decorated Street – Public Choice
Is your street a Christmas Wonderland? Nominate with a minimum of 4 houses for your chance to be crowned Best Decorated Street.
- $1,000 prize to be split evenly among nominated addresses
Best Overall Display – Judges Choice
Chosen by our judges from all the entries nominated.
Best First-Time Entry – Judges Choice
Have you been thinking about registering but haven‘t been ready in previous years? Join in the Christmas spirit for your chance to win this Judges Choice award. Your entry will need to be verified by Shire staff.
What are the key dates?
- Registrations open: Monday 18 November 2024
- Registrations close: 10am, Monday 2 December 2024
- Displays photographed: Monday 2 December - Thursday 5 December 2024
- Voting opens: 12 noon, Friday 6 December 2024
- Voting closes: 2pm, Monday 16 December 2024
- Winners announced: Wednesday 18 December 2024
- Winners receive prizes and get photos taken: Wednesday night, 18 December 2024
