The Perth Hills Tourism Alliance (PHTA) took home gold in the Excellence in Local Government Award for Tourism category at the annual Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards on 9 November.
The PHTA is a collaborative partnership between the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, City of Armadale, City of Swan, City of Kalamunda and the Shire of Mundaring. The all-star cast was awarded for their outstanding contribution to tourism in WA at a ceremony at Perth Airport.
Winning the category is a boon for the PHTA, who have worked hard to promote the Darling Scarp as a premier tourist hotspot.
Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale President Rob Coales had this to say.
“Winning a state tourism award is no small feat,” he said. “This award highlights the tireless work of everyone involved in promoting the unique attractions of the Darling Scarp. We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve built and look forward to continuing to showcase this incredible region.”
