Significant upgrades to Kargotich Road will be carried out over the coming months, with Stage 1 works having commenced on Wednesday, 19 April 2023.

Stage 1 works will include road widening, surface treatment, street lighting and the installation of crash barriers between Rowley Road and Thomas Road.

This will provide long term safety for users of Kargotich Road, with completion expected by August 2023. Road closures and detours will be in place for the duration of these important works, with access remaining for local traffic.

The works are being funded as part of an $18 million State Government election commitment to upgrade three hyper growth roads within Serpentine Jarrahdale. Kargotich Road, Orton Road and Soldiers Road will all receive significant rehabilitation as part of the funding commitment.

Building a safer roads network is a key focus for the Shire, with Kargotich Road works following the recent completion of other priority projects such as upgrades to Rowley Road and the Shire’s 2023 Road Reseal Program.
