The only way to prevent infection is to avoid being bitten. Discover the challenges they pose and our strides in mosquito control on Thursday, 24 August from 9am at our Byford Library. Chat with our new Public Health Officer, Farah and learn new tips and tricks to keep mosquitoes under control. Some of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones include:
- Applying insect repellent on your skin and clothing
- Wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants when outdoors
- Sleep under a mosquito net or in a screened room
- Avoid stagnant water where mosquitoes breed
- Removing rubbish around any standing water
