Behind every story there is a great character. Join Perth junior fiction author, Kristy Nita Brown, at the Byford Library for a creative writing workshop like no other. Play games and learn fun ways to invent magical, memorable characters.

Kristy's debut chapter book, Looking for Lily, was shortlisted in the 2023 West Australian Young Readers' Book Award.  Her latest release, Mavey and Beth's Double Act: Where's My Whistle? looks set to follow a similar path with a fourth placing at the 2023 CYA Aspiring Authors competition in the chapter book category. A qualified primary school teacher and TAFE lecturer, Kristy delivers creative writing workshops, author visits and readings at libraries and school.
