Congratulations  to Jamie Burton, who was recognised as a part of the Shire’s Volunteer Recognition Program for his hard work with the Lightweight Motorcycle Club.

Jamie received a $100 voucher to a restaurant of his choice located within the Shire.

We asked Jamie a few questions about his experience volunteering:

How did you get involved volunteering for your group?

I wanted to do my part to help the club host events and have a great track to ride. 

How long have you been involved in volunteering?

I have been volunteering as a part of the Lightweight Motorcycle Club for two years, but I have been involved in motocross most of my life. 

What makes your club/group special to you?

I enjoy creating memories with my family and meeting other families. I have developed lifelong friendships from being involved in motocross.

Why would you recommend others to get involved in volunteering?

The enjoyment of helping your community is rewarding. It also gives me great self-satisfaction seeing others enjoy the club.
