Adoption of Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Dogs Local Law 2023

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has resolved to make the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Dogs Local Law 2023.

The purpose of this local law is to make provisions to provide a current and relevant statutory environment, with up to date and relevant management and enforcement processes in respect to the keeping and control of dog and dog facilities within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for the safety, wellbeing, convenience and amenity for the residents, visitors and the general community.

The effect of this local law is to provide clarity and consistency with current legislation, and is considered to meet the current and future needs, and the expectations of the community, and for the residents in the Shire, as well as Shire staff, and is consistent with contemporary local laws with similar purposes across Western Australia.

A copy of the local law may be inspected at or obtained from the Shire’s Administration Offices at 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong between 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and at any public library within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale during normal working hours.

The local law was gazetted on 23 February 2024 and will come into operation on 11 March 2024.
