Community Input Needed on Banksia Woodland Protection Plan

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is asking for your thoughts on our new Banksia Woodland Management Plan, designed to protect and sustain our local banksia woodlands.

The draft plan, now open for community feedback, outlines strategies for managing nine key banksia woodland areas in our Shire. These woodlands feature banksia trees with scattered eucalyptus and other trees, creating unique and valuable ecosystems.

Shire President Rob Coales said the Shire is excited to share this new plan with the community and receive feedback.

“This is the first time we’ve grouped our natural reserves by vegetation type to manage them more effectively. This plan is the first of four, focusing on the nine reserves with banksia woodlands and detailing specific actions to preserve them,” said President Coales.

"Community feedback is crucial to ensure our management plans meet community expectations and ensure we can protect our beautiful banksia woodlands for future generations. We value your input and encourage everyone to review the draft plan and share their thoughts."
