Byford Pump Track Feasibility Study

Project Overview

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale has engaged specialist consultants Common Ground to undertake a feasibility study for the potential development of a pump track in Byford.

A pump track is a bike circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by bike riders "pumping" — generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedalling or pushing on a bicycle.

An initial round of community engagement was held to gauge interest in a Pump Track in early July 2023. The feedback received is currently being reviewed by Shire Officers, and will help to determine if a Pump Track will be installed in Byford, what a preferred site would be and what the layout and features would include.

Should the future development of a Byford Pump Track be approved, it will be funded by a re-purposed State Government election commitment of $1.3 million.
